Duck Race News – Your duck could win you $10,000

We have some egg-citing news to share with you.  In recognition of the 19th Annual Great Brevard Duck Race, on April 2nd, 2017, a lucky duck adopter could be the winner of $10,000!*   That’s not all – we have 10 Quacktacular prizes to give away. Such as, the Grand Prize is a 4-Night Disney Cruise for two courtesy of Disney Cruise Line; a new prize courtesy of Indian River Furniture – an EKornes Consul Leather Chair and $500 gift card; a large Big Green Egg, Nest and accessories courtesy of Wassi’s Learning Center; tickets to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure; and much more.  A complete listing of prizes can be located at www.greatbrevardduckrace.com.

Please join us in making a big splash for children in crisis by adopting ducks again for the 19th Annual Great Brevard Duck Race starting February 1, 2017.

The Great Brevard Duck Race is a major fundraiser for Crosswinds Youth Services, a non-profit organization that, for nearly 43 years,  has been committed to helping vulnerable youth and children overcome serious issues such as homelessness, abuse and neglect, running away and other serious challenges.

*The winning duck numbers are selected prior to the race and kept in a sealed security envelope.  When the 19th adopted duck crosses the finish line, a race official will determine whether the duck is one of the pre-selected Ten thousand dollar winning ducks.  If it is, the duck adopter wins the Ten thousand dollar prize.  If it is not, the Ten thousand dollar prize will not be awarded.  The odds of being pre-selected as a potential winner of the Ten thousand are approximately 1:3000.  For a complete set of rules please visit www.greatbrevardduckrace.com.

Remember to mark your calendars for 4.2.2017 for the

19th Annual Great Brevard Duck Race!

Thank you!

Youth Milestone

A Very Special Congratulations and Milestone!

It takes commitment and dedication to earn college credits while still in high school and for many students it’s not easy. In May, Seth, one of our youth at Crosswinds, graduated from both high school and Eastern Florida State College, receiving his Associate in Arts degree. He’s now a student at the University of Florida pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. Seth recently received a scholarship from Amy’s Fund, an endowment set up by Bunny and Robert Lehton in memory of their daughter Amy Gellert.

Seth has demonstrated that the power to succeed lies in the determination to “get it done.” Congratulations to Seth! We are very proud of him, and we wish him the very best!
